On Wednesday, September 1, 2010, the nation watched the siege of the Discovery channel unfold on live TV. SWAT teams, tanks, gun toting men swarmed downtown Silver Spring. Blocks were cordoned off. Pictures of cribs rolling down Colesville Rd graced every TV screen across the country. Stories of nonexistant gun shots plagued every news outlet. It was a sensation unbeknownest to Montgomery County since the DC Sniper 8 years ago. But in the end, the real story of life and death got buried in soundbites of a fanatic versus the so-called heroes of the murderous state.
At 4:48 PM, James Jay “Lee” Lee was murdered by the Montgomery County Police. While our hearts go out to the three individuals taken “hostage” by Lee, we mourn the murdered individual and pity the taxpayers that funded the police state barricades erected throughout Silver Spring well into Thursday morning. Shutting down significant portions of Colesville, Georgia, and Fenton, the pigs dragged in multiple SWAT teams, hundreds of cops, and wasted fucktons of money, so they could shoot and kill a mentally ill man holding a dangerous arsenal of starter guns and batteries.
Amidst the pigs’ supply of lethal toys and swine paraphernalia, no one stopped to gaze into their multithousand dollar sniper scope and distinguish between a starter pistol (yes, the same ones they use to start running and swimming races) and batteries (yep, the fucking energizer bunny). Media also reports Lee having firecrackers, propane tanks (the same ones used for hobby welders) and wires. OMG, wires!
When all was said and done, Lee was murdered by one shot. A shot requiring incredible accuracy…or not. Lee was left to drown in his own blood, and his corpse wallowed in it for the next 12 plus hours until he was removed from the building early Thursday morning. No Advanced Life Support efforts were made. Zero.
Lee was famous in the DC activist community. He had a knack for pissing off the established left with his persistent views on climate change as paramount issue and his infamous and outrageous stance on population control. He was banned from the Washington Peace Center and held often one man demonstrations outside their office. But despite his sometimes idiotic positions on issues, he was known to many as a kind heart and a gentle soul. He realized his passion and pursued it to the very end; he put everything on the line for his beliefs. Though SwinefluDC takes no stance on the programming at the Discovery Channel (we actually don’t have cable), we recognize and appreciate passion and struggle, in all its forms.
While the media and subsequent press conferences praise the work of the Montgomery County Pigs and the Montgomery County Fire and EMS department, we know this was avoidable. It was well known that Lee was mentally ill. From his frequent throwing of money around (literally throwing), to his bizarre views on the Discovery Channel, to the way he carried himself, anyone who chance encountered Lee knew about his illness. Why then would an agency who purports to understand mental illness and who has all the tools in the swine universe at their disposal resort to lethal force? Why, because they’re a bunch of trigger happy dumbasses.
The swine who ordered this murder is Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger. Chief Swine Manger is no stranger to the Swine world. Prior to coming to Montgomery County Police department, he served as the Chief of neighboring Fairfax County Pigs.
