Like clockwork, the middle of May marks the arrival, inundation, of tens of thousands of swine from across the world. Coming in from all corners of the globe, National Police Week swarms our communities like a pack of angry wolves: the metro – packed with badges and uniforms, the streets -militarized by motorcycles and motorcades, downtown- a flurry of pig activity zooming through our major corridors with complete impunity.
Every year stories surface of pigs getting out of hand at the supposedly solemn ceremonie, pulling hotel fire alarms, groping and mooning non Pig guests and sliding naked down the lobby escalator, only after pouring beer down the banister. The Pigs, reportedly mostly from New York, set off fire extinguishers and exposed themselves to other hotel guests, mainly Nurses and Postal Workers, both in town for their respective conventions. When the MPD pigs showed up to quell the rioting, they simply escorted the Pigs back to their rooms. No arrests were ever made. The President of the DC FOP at the time, Louis Cannon (see below), even went as far as stating, “All these allegations of mooning. Nurses should be familiar with anatomy. Nurses have witnessed a butt before.”
Hmm, that’s interesting. Any time local kids get together and do so much as toss a bottle into the streets, the Pigs respond with sheer viciousness, arrests and trumped up charges. When protests come to town, their response is call out the riot squad. But when the FOP gets together from across the world and commits hundreds of felonies in plain view of their swine brothers and sisters, they throw them a party and welcome them back, year after year after year.
We can thank the local FOP Lodge #1 for playing host to the largest, most brutal gang in the world, Police. Opening their doors to parties, cook outs, vendors and drinking; allowing the Pigs from around the world make DC their playground.
The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #1, 711 4th St NW, is comprised of over 11,000 Swine from 117 different federal and district agencies. It is a member of the Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. In theory, it is a pig social club, banquet hall, and labor union. Their mission: “to promote fraternalism.”
But in typical DC fashion, nothing is ever as simple at it first appears. The Grand Lodge #1 permits management in the union, thereby effectively dissolving the power of the rank and file pigs. So, in 1980, the FOP/MPD Labor Committee , 1524 Pennsylvania Avenue SE,was established to represent the Pigs’ wishes.
So there are 2 FOPs in DC; one for all the pigs, the other, for the beat cops.
We’ll take a look at some of the swine in both, but mostly the Big FOP cuz that’s more fun. Lucky for us, the FOP has to register with DCRA as a domestic non-profit organization. Which means, the fools have to file a 990 form with the IRS. Huh? you say. 990 forms are part of the public record into the history and existence of non profits. They require domestic non profit corporations to file earnings, losses, activities, investments and Board of Director’s information. Translation, bureaucratic madness makes it easy as pie to pinpoint the some of the major swine flu locales.
Have a whiff, but be careful, don’t approach. Especially not during National Pig week. Remember, armed and dangerous. Armed and Dangerous. Check it out:

And, we probably don’t need to say this, again, but this information was found through entirely legal and public means. We simply peeked the DCRA site and found what we suspected all along, their Domestic Non Profit Corporation status. That gave us Swine Marcello Mazzutti’s addy. Then, we logged into guidestar.org and read through their 990 form. In 2008, they listed the executive Board’s addy’s as the FOP Grand Lodge. But, lucky for us, Guidestar goes back 3 years. So in 2007 the fools listed their own address. We cross checked it with whitepages and like magic, swineflu hotspots. We didn’t bother to check the property assessment databases for their respective counties/cities but we believe this information to be accurate. Feel free to cross check on your own though, the links are listed at the bottom of each swine, warthog and wild boar page.
