On Wednesday, September 1, 2010, the nation watched the siege of the Discovery channel unfold on live TV. SWAT teams, tanks, gun toting men swarmed downtown Silver Spring. Blocks were cordoned off. Pictures of cribs rolling down Colesville Rd graced every TV screen across the country. Stories of nonexistant gun shots plagued every news outlet.
